Mix The fun with some Huge Changes

- If you don't feel like reading the whole thing, I understand.. the pictures tell a pretty good story... but you might want to check out the last few paragraphs to discover some life changes in our home ;-). (for my sake of course)

We headed up to Maryland on Friday to spend friday night and saturday wiht my brother Sam, his wife Kristin, and their little boy Isaac. Annica and Isaac remembered eachother quickly and went into that world that two yearolds go into where they understand eachother, giggle and play in a way that only young children can do. We went on a walk, enjoyed an incredible meal complete with a yummy bowl full of fresh fruit. Dj was exhausted so he went to bed early. Sam, Kristin and I stayed up late and played a game, talked and looked into an indreible camping place on a beach with wild horses! What? Yeah! and hopefully you will see post there later.

We woke up in the morning and went to IKEA where we gathered so fun to accessories for our house. The leaf for Annica's book corner (totally copied Sam and Kristin). A fun Elephant blanket, and this radical tunnel that even Eli is now coordinated enough to crawl through.

Then we spent a few hours at the DC temple. I was recently called to the primary presidency, so I was helping wiht a primary activity there (which was amazing by the way). And the rest of my gang went off and did some things around the temple together. Of course Annica and Issac had fun together. We are so glad to be close to Sma and Kristin, its a real blessing. Thanks guys!

After the activity, we were planning on going "into the city", meaning washington DC and seeing the amazing history there. We were going to be added two of our favorite people to the croaw: Sean and Stephanie Braniff (dada!). However, the weather didn't agree as the sky sent waterfalls of rain down to the area. So we decided to part with Sam, Kristin and Issac and head to Alexandria to the Branniff home.

We had a really great time. We went for a walk, went swimming, had Seans famous Speghetti,(yum!) ate ice cream (mm!), played on the porch, play a rosing game of pass the pigs... bet you can't guess who kicked some tooshy, had some really good conversation in between... and somewhere in the the weekend got super interupted... but we have now decided it was all for the best.

Annica and Steph doing some bird watching and soaking up their time together.

Sean and DJ disscussing some sort of manliness or intellegent thing (sorry its blury).

WE GOT A PHONE CALL FROM THE STAKE EXECUTIVE SECRETARY that went as follows:
"Brother Anderson, the Stake President would like to meet with you and your wife in the morning."

DJ: "We are in DC for the weekend, can we make it for tomorrow night?"

Exec. : "I'll have to call you back."

THE PHONE RINGS AGAIN
Exec: "The stake president says he needs you in his office no later then 10:00 tomorrow morning and you need to be in sacrement meeting."

.... eventuallty with sadness we agreed. Our fun Braniff slumber party, had been interupted. Don't get me wrong, we had a FANTASTIC time and are thankful that we got to have the time and do the things we did. But its always hard to leave Sean and Steph.

We headed back late Sturday night, and sat in the stake presidents office.

Within two hours DJ was sustained the 2nd Councelor of the Bishopric in the Salem Ward of Virginia Beach, Ordained a High Priest in the Melckesidac Priesthood, and set apart for his calling. (if this is confusing, we would be happy to explain it to you!)

One thing that sticks out in my mind is when the 1rst councelor of the Stake Presidency told us that these men were going to return to work tomorrow and a life changing thing has happened over the weekend. And no one would know it.

How blessed I am to have such a worthy and incredible husband. And I am so proud of him for serving the Lord faithfully.

When all was said and done, thigns were overwhelming, between normal life, me in the primary prsidency and DJ in the bishopric life will be very busy, but there is peace and it has been and will continue to be a great experience.

I will post an official Bishopric Picture if and when I can get my hand on it. :-)

I'm so glad that you feel at peace with everything and are glad that things turned out the way they did. It was hard to see you go, but now that all is said and done, I feel like it was the right thing for you guys to do. I'm so glad you had fun. We just love you guys so much and are counting down the days until we can see you again. Unfortunately and realistically I don't think we'll be able to come down until the 4th of July. BUT we couldn't be MORE excited!
