Virginia Beach

We are here!! And it feels great! Our camera charge cord is yet to be found, so forgive me for the few pictures we have, they are all from the first two days... but we hope to order a new cord soon.

DJ and my dad took three days to drive here. Through Kansas, Misouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia and Finall Virgina. They picked my mom, my self and the kids up at the airport on Saturday.

We spent a great week in colorado and arrived in Virginia on Saturday. Come to find out that our moving company was closed on weekends, so we could not get our things until monday. But when we got here Sean an Stephanie Braniff were cooking dinner at our apartment! They are some of our best friends and we haven't seen them in almost a year! And my parents had traveled with us, so we camped out in our apartment for a couple nights, reconected, laughed, played... There was just something incredbile about having familiar people around when moving to a new place. Thanks!!
Our ward is incredible! Its smaller than a rexburg ward and WAY more spread out, but the people were so nice. Seeings how we were the only new faces, many people introduced themselves and we are having dinner at our stake presidents house tonight. (he is in our ward and his wife invited us). Our things came yesterday and we had three guys from the ward show up to help move it all in. SO nice!

When we flew over the area and began to land, the plane circled out into the ocean. Annica thought it was so incredbilyamazing. "I want to stick my toes in!" She said. Then at the top of her lungs she said "That is REALLY big water mommy!"

When we came out of the airport, all we could see are huge tall trees, and big bushes with pink flowers all over them. I kept saying, "We live here?!" I feel like I am on vacation. And there is a slight smell of sea salt in the air. I love it!

So when we got here we went to the beach that night, and stuck our toes in. But it got cold and dark fast, so we thouht we would go back the next day. Well, its been raining ever since! But the beach is only literally a 10 minute drive away. How close did you grow up to the beach? This is so foreign to me but awesome! We are really excited to be here! The apartment complox is so incredibly nice! And it feels bigger than we thought! Annica's favorite part is that we have a porch!

Since then, we went to the aquarium, which is magnificent and expanding. WE saw a shark sneeze, Annica fed a horse shoe crab, we touched sting rays and saw the biggest turtles I have ever seen in my life. (sorr the camera is dead!)

We also spent a few hours t teh beach during daylight. Annica was so brave and headed right for the water which was a little chilly but she did not care. We had to teach her to hold a had so that the tide would not sweep the little girl away. Eli on the other hand preferred to play in the sand up the beach quite a bit away from the water. He did not live being close to the sound of the waves. We built a sand castle, packed a lunch, Annica chased seagles, and I got sunburnt. Woops! (again no camera).

We love it here. It feels like where we should be and it is a different kind of beautiful than anywhere else we have been. Come visit!! There is so much to do here, so many kind people all around. We are so excited to be out east and so close to Sean and Steph and Same and Kristin and Isaac!

The pictures are beautiful! I'm glad you could have a safe trip out there...I don't envy the fact that you have all that unpacking to do though!!! I'm sure you will love it out there--it's crazy that you are so far away though!
