VIVA!!!

yup, you guessed it.... Las Vegas. Dj and I went to Vegas, just the two of us! A big thanks to my parents who came to take very good care and spoil our children. They has a great time, and so did we.

It was our first time in Vegas, so we had much help from friends that gave us ideas of where to go.

at the sugar factory....

Our resort had a huge chess set. For the first time in my life, I BEAT DJ at chess. He said it was because the size threw him off. I don't think so.

One place we were SO excited to go was the originally Hard Rock Cafe in Vegas, off the strip. Our  weighers name was "Seven".  It was rockin'!

We also drove the see the Hoover Dam. This is incredible. I don't have the words.
This is Lake Mead which is created by the Dam.

The Hoover Dam

We took an amazing tour and got to go INSIDE the Dam. Here is looking out one of the vents.

The vent from the overlook of the dam looked like it was the size of my head. Once inside, we saw that I was so wrong. its MUCH bigger than my noggin.

Walking through the tunnel system.

The New Bridge.

The original elevator shaft from the outside. Built to reflect the sun. Beautiful.

In two states at once. Nevada and Arizona.

There are two men/angels like this one to praise the men who helped build the dam. Legend from the great depression says that anyone who rubs his feet will gain good fortune. If you look closely his feet are a different color from all who have rubbed their way to good fortune

Serendipity 3 was one of the restaurants we ate at. YUM!

DJ fished pearls out of oysters for me, because its been 8 years of marriage for us old folks. Thanks sweetie. Happy anniversary

We went and saw Cirque De Sole. "La Reve". Oh. My. Goodness. If you have never seen a Cirque show, PLEASE go see one. it was incredible

It was sooo strange to be without our kids. Planning things was different, eating ad noticing and staying out late were all strange. But it was so nice to just be together. I am so glad that he has put up with me for 8 years! Thanks for taking me to Vegas DJ! I love you

And thanks to all of those who helped us plan this trip by chiming in on my Facebook page. :-) We had a blast!

for more fun scenery photos -- visit the Sherwood Photography link to the right of my blog. And go back to June's pictures.
