Dj ran his first 5k! I was pretty dang impressed for 2 reasons. He is running, which he used to hate to do. And its something I can't do. The 2nd reason is that he did not only run a 5k, but the 5k he ran was The Color Run. Now if any of you know DJ, he is a bit of a clean freak. In kindergarten, he would not even finger paint unless he had those plastic doctors gloves on. So this was a BIG deal. He did awesome and had a blast. He ran it in 28 minutes, even though there were 13,000 people and he had to walk part of the way because of the crowds.
He ran with some friends from his office. Here is the team before. "Unicorn Tears." (don't ask haha)
And here is DJ as he finished. Every k along the way, there were about a dozen people throwing colored powder at the runners.

After the run, large groups get together to do "Color Throws". Everyone was given color packets so they could all participate in the infamous moment.

What a mighty fine mess! It was so fun!!! The Color Run Travels around the US. If they are heading your way, I suggest you sign up! You don't have to be a runner, just a person feeling spontaneous will do. We hope to do it as a family next year.
Way to go DJ! You rock!
(ps... most of it came off, but DJ's belly and arm are still stained quite pink. Its pretty attractive)

Oh my goodness! Way to go DJ! It sounds like such a blast. I'm sure the shower following that run was the best ever.
