Christmas 2007

Christmas at Grandma Shauna and Papa Zeke's house.

On christ mas eve, we thought it would be fun to have a slumber party next to the christmas tree with the kids. Well it got late and Annica cried and cried and finally after trying to calm her down to sleep for a while we asked, "Annica, what do you want?" she replied... "my own bed in my own room."

OH well, I guess if you just ask the kid instead of trying everything WE thought she wanted or needed or just assuming she was way over tired. SO we put her in her own bed in her own room and she fell asleep within 5 minutes no joke. So the slumber party wasn't a hit. But atleast we all got a good nights rest.

We woke up to a VERY VEYR snowy day... we were so excited!! Doesn't everyone dream of a white christmas?
Mike and Tia began their christmas at Tia's family's house this year, and Sam and Kristin decided to stay in Maryland for a fabulous christmas there. So we waited for Mike and Tia to come over to begin the events of Christmas morning.

However, Santa had left a big, very fancy red tricycle next to the christmas tree.... now a note -- the night before we asked Annica, "do you want santa to come to Grandma Shaunas house while we are sleeping." She did not like that idea at all, infact it kindof seemed to scare her and she yelled. "No!!" --- so we were worried that she might not like that santa left his trike. But of course her eyes were wide and she road it all around the house, and rang the bell like crazy.

When Mike and Tia and Annabelle arrived, it was time to go crazy. Jake, Mike, Tia, Anabelle, Grandma Shuana, Papa Zeke, and our family all gathered in the basement. We opened up our stockings to see what was inside, then we began opening presents. The girls of course wanted to be right next to eachother at first.... but then as more presents were opened, the girls got more and more overwhelmed. We had to take a break before finishing and let the girls play with the toys they had already opened. Annica got lots of cool things, tons of cute clothes and best of all she got to play with all of it with her cousin Annabelle.

Eli of course loved to watch all the hustle and bustle and hung out most on daddys lap. Some how it wore him out too, because he slept A LOT christmas day.

CHRISTMAS AT GRANDPA JAYS

After things calmed down and Eli woke up from his morning nap, we went out to grandpa jays house to have christmas with DJs family. At first Annica did not want to open any presents at all. But we finally got her to open a pink guitar from Nick. She thought that was REALLY cool and wanted to see what else was in everyon'es presents. I think she helped opene everysingle present under that tree. Vickie, Nick, Justin and David and Grandpa jay were all there to celebrate. It was realy special, and of course mostly about Annica. She got alsorts of peguins get up from Vickie and thought that was pretty cool! Plus she got a tent filled with balls.from David... (she's not spoiled at all... yeah right!)

Eli was souns asleep again by the time we got there and he slept nearly the whole time. He woke up in just enough time to cuddle with Vickie, eat and head out so the Annica could have her nap back at grandma Shaunas house.

We got all ready to go, put Annica in her coat and opened the door to head out and a little two year old escaped. Now let me make a note. Annica is in her big winter jacket, but thin pants, thin socks and low shoes. Like I said before, it was a VERY snowy day. Dj's grandpa lives in the forest and somehowe snow acummulates more out there and Annica was running like a fox in it. I had to chase her so she would not get too wet, and she thought that was hilarious. Lcukily I had a camera while I was chasing her and got some cutre pictures. Once we realized how much fun she was having, we let her play for a couple of minutes. Then she road hoem with no shoes and no pants on because they had gotten SOAKED. (Check them out in the pic with DJ and G-pa)

The rest of the day was calm and restful. THen in the evening we went and celebrated Vikie's birthday with her. We did not stay very long however, because the roads were getting very snowy and icy. Hope your CHristmas was great too. Hapy new year!!

This was the post of all posts!!! We are so glad you had a merry Christmas and we LOVED hearing all about it. It sounds like it was a wonderful day. We've been wanting a white Christmas for years... but no luck on our end. As always, we cannot BELIEVE how big Annica is! And little Eli has grown so much as well. We think we should start sending Annica weekly packages so that she remembers who we are when you move to Virginia. We've already commenced planning mulitple adventures. Just make sure you bring your wet suits, harpoon guns, C-4 explosives, and Swedish fish. Thanks for sharing, we loved reading about it. Happy New Year!
