It's hard to believe...

That Tanner is 6 weeks old already!! He is 11 and 1/2 pounds of sweet little baby boy. Thats right, he has gained nearly 5 pounds since he was born. 5 pounds in 6 weeks. At my 6 weeks check up, a nurse said "Wow, what a full baby." I said thank you, but giggled inside thinking "Yes I know he is chunky". But isn't it adorable?

Happy 6 week birthday!
So what goes on in a 6 week old's life?
*Sleep, poop, and eat of course
*He loves to watch the kids run and play
*He can make eye contact
*He loves hearing rattles
*Can follow a toy with his eyes
*Loves to be swaddled and snuggled
*Loves tummy time (my other 2 hated it)
*Smiles, but not quite on purpose yet
*Takes a pacifier for a while, but spits it when he falls asleep

And the big milestone...
**Tanner can roll from his belly to his back!**
And yes, he does it on purpose. (He sounds upset in this video, but he is just frustrated trying to get that body to roll over)

Eli is warming up to him and paying more attention to him- wanting to hold him, and trying to figure out what to say to him. Then he just ends up giggling, which of course Tanner loves.

The other day, Tanner was crying, and Annica was busy playing a computer game. From across the room she said, "Mom, just sing twinkle, twinkle little start to him." I thought it was funny, so I played along. "No, mom. You need to sing it quietly and right into his ear." Haha. She is such a little mommy. And good at it. She does not want to hold him as much as she did at first. Since he is bigger her arms don't fit around him the same way. A new born just isn't that fun to play with when they don't play back. But boy does she love to sing to him, quitely and right in his ear. (whether he is crying or not)

And for your viewing pleasure:

Tanner at 5 weeks old.
Yawning is something he does a lot. What a sleepy boy he is!
So Sweet

Tanner at 6 weeks old.
Chillen in the swing
Wide eyed and curious
Doing what he does best. Taking a snooze

Poor Baby has got a rash, and it looks very sore, so he has had the need for extra snuggling. But other than that, all is well!

Oh is he a cutie! He looks so much like his daddy!
He's lucky to have two loving siblings to take care of him--especially a sister who sings in his ears! How sweet is that?!
Any plans to come home this year?
