A Tucked Away Neighborhood

We live in a tucked away neighborhood in Columbus. But if you were to visit our city you would say something like, "Who are you kidding EVERYTHING is tucked away!" And its true. There are trees that line nearly all of the streets, and especially around the neighborhoods. We love it. After searching both homes and apartments for rent, we decided that an apartment would be best for us in our current situation. Here is why:

2 fun, small playgrounds
A beautiful walking path
The Structure and trees remind us of home
A swimming pool with zero grade entry (and fountains!)
Ping pong and pool tables
A tanning bed (ha! i don't know that i will use it, but its there!)
Plus it is close to grocery, restaurants, shopping etc.
No Yard work!
Most of all it just felt right when we came to see it.

We were blessed to find a large 3 bedroom floor plan that feels like plenty of space for us. Our prayers were answered in finding a home that we love and feels safe in and so much more! We have been here for two weeks and really feel at home already.
The first day we were here we met two sets of neighbors with kids. One of which has a 4 year old boy, and a two year girl, the other had a 16 month old girl. We went to our ward the first time and were happily surprised by two things: the neighbor with two kids is in our ward! And we have some friends from home that recently moved here, (which we knew) and they too, are in our ward. (more to come about that!)

Enough with the typing... here are some fun pictures around our "neighborhood".
The entrance, and our apartment building.

One the walking trail, through the woods.

DJ swinging on the viney trees probably won't be happening too often. Right after I took the pictures the vine snapped and he fell flat on his back. It was pretty funny! (no he was not hurt).

At the castle playground. (pictured here at sunset) This castle has stairs that go up to the very top, and a slide that goes down through the middle and out the side. It also has another smaller slide on the outside, a bridge and room to play inside and outside of it.

Here the kids are at another play area which features a tunnel slide through a rocky hill, and swings! Annica has been really into both princesses and super-heros lately. The swing makes the perfect flying contraption.

Playing with the macro lens on my camera, eli is looking at the tops of the trees while swinging.

I have not taken pictures of the inside of our apartment yet. We have a few more things to hang first... so they are on their way!
